# Your writing stays on your Mac.

MarsDawn has no account, no sync and no cloud. It opens a file, you write, and it saves the file where you chose.

In this screenshot:

1. A file on your Mac, saved where you choose.
2. The whole toolbar is themes and layouts; there is nothing to sign in to.

## What that means

- **There is no account** to sign up for or sign in to.
- **Nothing syncs to a cloud.** Your documents stay where you save them.
- **Nothing is tracked.** MarsDawn does not collect any data about you, and its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
- **Web images stay blocked until you choose to load them,** so opening a document never tells a server you read it. When you do load them, they load over https only.
- **Local images** show in the preview once you grant access to their folder.
